Adult study is not just challenging, it can be a
petrifying experience! The adult learner
will most certainly face the predicament of juggling study with work, family,
and the day-to-day civic and personal development demands.
When I enrolled at AIU for a doctorate in
Management, I knew full well that the academic journey will be long; that the
demands will be acute; and that even though I would eventually triumph, success
would not materialize on a silver platter.
I committed myself to facing off the challenge consoled by the knowledge
that AIU is the best pathway for adult learning and that AIU staff would always
be there to walk with me all through the academic journey.
Looking back over the years that I have been
studying, I can say without any ambiguity or self-contradiction that indeed,
the interface with my Academic Supervisors was the most fulfilling. I could never have asked for better. Even when they (Academic Supervisors) appeared
rather tough, insisting that I submit better, more academically rigorous
assignments, I would take heart and find solace in knowing that AIU wants me to
be a better learner. And whenever I would fall behind deadlines for submission
of assignments (like I sadly often did), what I would get from my Academic
Supervisors would not be admonition, rather encouragement to soldier on to meet
my academic goals.
The online AIU library with its millions of journal
articles, books, and other reference materials is awesome! I doubt that I would ever have managed
self-led study without such a magnificent, easily accessible facility.
I’m truly indebted, and will always be indebted to
AIU for this academic achievement.
