Your AIU Postdoctoral Research program at AIU will be a custom-made program, designed just for you by you and your advisor. This flexibility to meet your needs is seldom found in other distance research programs.
The goal of the postdoctoral program is to create opportunities to share innovative research with the world through publishing, collaboration, special projects and coauthoring to contribute to the Scholars community and the world. Postdoctoral study at Atlantic International University creates a unique opportunity for you, the Scholar, to develop innovative research in one of our three schools; Business and Economics, Social and Human Studies or Science and Engineering that is geared towards the 2030 UNESCO goals for sustainable development. The goal of the postdoctoral program is not only to train and research but also to make significant contributions to your life as well as the university’s educational and research missions.
Pre-requisites
• Provide a copy of your doctoral degree or foreign equivalent
• Has a research topic to be developed throughout the program or to accept topics that AIU defines
• Has a funding source for the investigation whether self-financed or investor
Grants/Fellowships
AIU provides a Postdoctoral grant for scholars to put towards the program if the research proposal (contingent on approval of research). In addition, you may search for fellowships and funding in our platform that connects students with our large international alumni network on AIU LinkNet.
Symposium
Our yearly symposium allows University’s postdoctoral scholars to share their innovative research they are developing as well as network with our AIU Community. The goals of our symposium are:

• Explore the diversity of our postdoctoral research
• Connect with other postdoctoral scholars

Admission Requirements
The following are requirements for admission to the AIU Postdoctoral Research Program (additional requirements are specific to your major or filed of study):
Admissions Application form available online. (click here)
A brief curriculum vitae that provides an overview of education, work, publication, and other professional activities.
A master’s degree from a recognized program, or the equivalent.
Additionally, applicants may be required to submit one or more of the following to determine their eligibility.
Sufficient references from persons in the professional and academic communities. The Committee on Doctoral Studies may, on occasion, require additional references.
At least one example of scholarly research or professional writing in any format (print or electronic). The student should describe fully any published or unpublished research, thesis, contributions to the professional or scholarly literature, and other professional or academic experience relevant to an assessment of his or her capacity to pursue doctoral study successfully.
Note: Students who have been granted Advanced Placement Candidate status (APC) may be allowed modification of the above protocol.
