MY AIU EXPERIENCE
Enefiok Asanga, PhD in Project Management.
I enrolled at AIU as a student to pursue a program leading to the award of PhD in Project Management. As a first timer in on-line studies and andragogy system of learning, I started without knowing what to expect. This, however, turned out to be a landmark experience at AIU. It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. Sure, it helped me to rediscover myself.
In AIU, you know how to schedule your assignment, combining it with your job without interference. The program helps one to think independently without copying the style or the thinking of a particular lecturer or adviser. One thing I however found out is that someone is always available and ready to assist and give valuable direction when needed. The timeframe to study and submit assignments is very flexible and was the reason I was able to cope despite my busy schedule at work and official travels.
The Departmental staff were wonderful, ever ready to encourage, noting specially my Tutor, Advisors at the various Phases of the program, the Student Services, etc. It was exciting to see that one can actually design and redesign his curriculum after scrutiny to suit the requirement of your program of study.
The system which allows installmental payment of tuition fees makes the program affordable to those who hitherto may not have been able to dream of additional qualifications or developed themselves. The University, however, should invite a universally accepted Accreditation Authority like the Department of Education to look at her programs with a view to getting their accreditation.
