The doctoral program in Mining Engineering helps students become a professional capable of designing and managing a modern coal or mineral mining operation, or continuing in research, banking, law or consulting.

Mining engineers plan mining operations and design subway and surface mines. They also learn to design mining equipment and develop the tools necessary to supervise the technicians and workers who use them. Graduates of this bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering will be able to work in the coal and metal industries.
