Through academic freedom and an open curriculum, allow the student to discover their calling as they define and achieve their dream in life while contributing to finding solutions to problems sustainably respectful towards human rights at all times through the AIU Pledge. To bring out the unique capacity inherent in each student to achieve their maximum potential and contribute to the betterment and advancement of their families, community, country, and the world.
The primary goal of the program structure and design is to facilitate the transformation of the student into what he or she defines as their optimal self. Taking into account their past, present, and visualized future, the AIU student is able to determine the unique academic path most appropriate to achieve their goals. Academic freedom and self-determination are paramount pillars of the AIU program as one of the hallmarks of AIU is an open curriculum where the student under the guidance of the Academic Advisor and Academic Department defines the most relevant courses, assignments, research, and projects that both further the student’s stated goals and demonstrate the necessary capability expected of the degree level. Such a student-centered and unique program structure ensures that the time, materials, and work invested in the AIU program are practical meaning they have direct real-world application and go beyond theoretical learning.
Inspire students to achieve their optimal selves by asking each one to take the AIU pledge of giving back to their families, community, country, and the world. To consider what they wish their legacy to be and their purpose in life. One option is to generate solutions that help protect human rights as defined by the 17 UNESCO 2030 goals into their work and projects, seeking out synergies that will help them and also work towards or contribute towards those goals.
