A wealth of academic resources are provided to AIU students to facilitate their growth, development, and the fulfillment of their defined dreams and program goals. AIU’s online library puts 210,000 books and more than 30 million scholarly/peer-reviewed articles, journals and publications at your fingertips. Access and contribute to over 105,000 AIU-created scholarly content shared on Merlin Media Center.
Today, our world has generated an exponential increase in quality sources for learning and education. Most of these courses are outside the classroom through experts, social media, YouTube Massive Open Online Courses that share real-world knowledge and hands-on learning for their followers, visitors, and viewers.
Access to experts has never been better and is no longer limited to academia or university professors. This phenomenon, along with the desire to teach the masses, has spawned a niche called microlearning in which complex topics and areas of study can be condensed and compressed into 15-minute intervals that achieve perhaps 80% of the knowledge transfer that would normally be contained in 2 or 3 hours of “university lectures.” This is done by simplifying, summarizing, removing unnecessary content, and focusing on what is most relevant and applicable in practice.
