AIU Mentos can play an integral role in students’ career outlook, development, and professional recognition.
Mentors encourage and support the publication of student research and projects in academic publications, discovery of available rants and grant writing. Typically, a student’s Academic Advisor can be assigned as a mentor. In some cases AIU Alumni with experience in having work published academically or successfully obtaining funds from grants can advise. If the expertise coincides, Mentors and students may collaborate as co-authors.
In addition, participation in AIU events are highly recommended as they elevate the participants’ perceived view as an expert in the field amongst the AIU and academic community as well as the general public through AIUTV/Radio, Webinars, Conferences, Open access student publication and on the University Blog.
Academic Advisors review and grade student assignments as well as approve the curriculum design proposed by the student. Based on the AIU Open Learning Curriculum design, each course and curriculum is unique to each student and the proposal and approval process is a key component to a successful academic program.
AIU Academic Advisors are well versed in the unique AIU program and educational ethos. Their goal is to guide you to make the best use of the resources and time you invest in your academic program. With the academic freedom granted by the AIU program, we demand that our students dare to dream big and seek to identify and solve real problems affecting our communities and the world. Along the way we seek to help each person on their academic journey find their passion and true calling in life.
