I
write with much joy as a proud student of Atlantic International University.
Growing up as a child, I had a dream of schooling abroad for that reason; a
family member who lives and works in USA gave me a brochure which contained
American Universities to select the school of my choice.
My
excitement dwindled as the promise of helping me through school failed but I
did not rest on my oars. The desire to attend a local University in my country
was not there so I pursued my search for an online university after gaining
employment. I came across so many online
universities but amongst the lot, AIU caught my attention.
Two
days after filling a form online, I received with excitement a call from
Ofelia. She was extremely nice. She
explained to me what I needed to understand and encouraged me to pursue the
Degree Program. Initially, my challenge was with the fees I needed to pay but
she told me I could pay in installment.
I just couldn’t hide my excitement.
I later received my letter of enrolment as a student – that started my
journey at AIU in August 2011. I was offered a program in Business
Administration.
What
fascinated me was the discipline at which students are made to submit assignments. I recollect an instance where an assignment
was given; because I did not understand it, I went online to search and produce
same without acknowledging where I got the information – then the discipline started.
I was marked down and was advised to resubmit since the work was not original.
I
learnt my lessons from that time. In short, Plagiarism is not accepted at AIU. Since that time, I have learnt
to do every assignment by myself and own way. That experience alone brought out
the CAN DO spirit in me. Now I see myself a refined individual who is able to
take up challenges – thanks to AIU. Along the way, I lost my job and so could
not pay my tuition balance to graduate. I was heartbroken! I kept asking myself
if I was going to throw away what I started, but thank God I managed to pull
some funds to complete payment.
Studying
online whiles working has been so exciting. This is really a dream come true.
Thanks to the initiators of Online Education. You made a dream come true. To all
Tutors and Aides, I say Thank you for assisting me through. Indeed this is a
dream come true.
