Omar de Jesús Montilla Galvis a graduate of AIU in both a Bachelors and Doctorate program in Public Management as well as a Professor of the Faculty of Management Science of the Universidad del Valle- has been reelected for the third consecutive term as President of the Commission of Ethics and Professional Practice of the American Accounting Association – AIC.
Notably- the AIC- is the highest body of the accounting profession in the American continent- and works with nine technical committees- this being the only commission chaired by a Colombian.
The nomination is achieved after being assessed his tenure as head of the committee in the previous period as one of the most outstanding for the achievements obtained including the papers presented by the commission in numerous events in Latin America.
Moreover- Professor Montilla was also appointed as a member of the Supervisory Committee of the American Accounting Association- representing Colombia for the period of 2016-2017; commission in which also forms representatives from countries such as Nicaragua and Panama.
