Daniel wrote a written version of a lecture in the symposium organized by the University of the Republic last October to commemorate the five hundred years of publication of Utopia of Tomas Moro. This work relates the Utopia of Tomás Moro- with the emergence of modernity as a historical process and cultural phenomenon. The working hypothesis is that the work of Moro supposes an imaginary vision of society whose axes fecundate the collective consciousness of the European society of the XVI century- and determine changes in the level of cultural reproduction.
